My name is Shelby Worsham, and I am the contented owner of a small, simple soul. Welcome to my first ever blog, which I hope to make a safe place for any of my sisters out there who are also embracing the great potential of small, simple souls placed in the hands of a loving, limitless God.
I do not say I have a small, simple soul to make myself seem insignificant, or less than, or to promote a sort of false humility. In fact, it has taken me a lifetime to own that identity and to embrace the fact that God created me on purpose, with a purpose. Just the way I am.
Gradually, and in a yet-ongoing process, God has begun to help me see that He not only loves me, He likes me the way He made me. And He has begun to help me to become more of who I was made to be instead of trying to be less of who I was created to be. Because I was created to be in Him. He has the power to transform my God-given traits into the strengths they were intended to be.
So, my friends. . .may I call you friends? (It feels as if we might be, since we are discussing such personal topics as faith, identity, and crazy insecurities!) My friends, those are some of the topics I want to explore in this blog.
I want to seek Biblical truth. I want to seek God’s character and how we can use our small, simple souls to reflect it to the world. I want to see His kingdom through new eyes and discover the important place He has prepared for us in it. I want to encourage you and honor God.
So, will you join me on this journey of placing our small, simple souls in the hands of our loving, limitless God? I hope so.
Shelby
1 John 3:2 Dear friends, now we are children of God, and what we will be has not yet been made known. But we know that when Christ appears, we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is.
