Roman 12:15: Rejoice with those who rejoice, weep with this who weep.
There are days when I question how my small, quiet soul fits into the body of Christ.
I know that it is by faith alone I am saved, and that any works I do grow from my love of my Savior. But my heart still asks what I really have to offer. Because. . .oh, how I want to serve my Savior!
I am learning that when these doubts creep in, I need to combat them with the truth. God’s truth. And that means soaking myself in scripture.
Most recently I have been thinking about Romans 12:15. “Rejoice with those who rejoice, weep with those who weep.”

Paul is speaking here of how we can show genuine love. When genuine love wells up out of a heart that is first loved by Jesus, the result is serving God.
For those of us who are owners of small, simple souls, the very way God wired us lends itself to this particular act of love. We feel all the feelings. We are filled with joy when we come alongside and celebrate with a sister. And in sorrow we are willing to sit with her in silence and share her tears.
Never dismiss the power of such small, simple acts. They are, I believe, some of the truest ways of letting someone know they are seen. Truly seen.
And by letting someone know we see her, we are pointing her to the one who truly sees her. Our loving and limitless God.
Until next time,
Shelby
