Finding God’s Truth in the Turmoil

My small, simple soul has been dealing with a big, daunting issue. An emotional issue that has been making me feel all the wrong kinds of small.

Instead of small and safe in my Father’s embrace, I feel small and vulnerable. Small and not enough.

I’m sure you have faced your own big life events that have seemed overwhelming and made you feel frightened, alone, or inadequate.

Friend, when that happens, it is time for us to fight back with the truth of God’s Word.

  • When we feel our knowledge is too limited, God’s Word instructs us, “If any of you lacks wisdom let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him” (James 1:5).
  • When we feel our love is too small, the Bible says, “God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us” (Romans 5:5).
  • When we feel our best is not enough, we have a God who “is able to do far more abundantly than all the we ask or think” (Ephesians 2:20).
  • When we feel alone and vulnerable, we are reminded, “But you, O Lord, are a shield about me, my glory, and the lifter of my head” (Psalm 3:3).

Let’s seek God’s truth in the turmoil.  Our challenges may not disappear, but God’s fingerprints will appear everywhere we look.

Because it’s not about us.  It’s about our loving, limitless God. He is bigger than every problem, and in Him our small, simple souls are safe, and they are loved.

Until next time,

Shelby
