Live Like Wildflowers

“Consider how the wild flowers grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you, not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today, and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, how much more will he clothe you—you of little faith!” (Luke 12:27-28).

I prefer wildflowers over roses.

Perhaps it’s as a result of being the owner of a small, simple soul that I am attracted to small, simple things.

Whatever the case, I’ve decided I want to live life like a wildflower.  They are resilient, thriving in unexpected places. They aren’t showy, but they possess a simple, honest beauty.  They bring glimpses of joy into otherwise barren places.

How do we live this type of beauty?

Luke 12:27-28 says, “Consider how the wild flowers grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you, not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today, and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, how much more will he clothe you—you of little faith!”

And in Isaiah we read, “I am overwhelmed with joy in the Lord my God! For he has dressed me with the clothing of salvation and draped me in a robe of righteousness” (Isaiah 61:10 NLT).

If we have called on the name of Jesus as Savior, we are clothed in His salvation and righteousness!  And they are beautiful robes indeed.

So let’s live like wildflowers for God, my friend.  Let’s let our small, simple souls be adorned with the splendor of His salvation and the beauty of His righteousness, bringing glimpses of joy into a sometimes barren world.

Until next time,

Shelby
