Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God (2 Corinthians 1:3-4).

We all have strengths and gifts that can be used by God. But what if His most powerful work is accomplished when we allow Him to use our weaknesses? Our brokenness? The most unlovely parts of who we are?
What if we surrendered those parts of ourselves to Him fully and completely? What if we offered them up as gifts for Him to use, allowing Him to redeem the darkness to bring His light to others?
People long for someone who understands. Someone who offers comfort from a place of recognition, a soul-deep compassion that can come only from experience.
So let’s be brave. Let’s hand our brokenness to God and watch as He uses it to reach an even more broken world.
Until next time,
Shelby
