Lamentations 3:21 says, “But this I call to mind, and therefore I have hope.”

The act of “calling” something to mind implies intentional action—a conscious choice on where we focus our thoughts.
When my heart grows weary, and hope feels faint, I consciously choose to remember and offer praise for what God has already done.
I call to mind that:
- God healed family hurt.
- God intervened when finances were far more than strained.
- God divinely orchestrated relief in a work situation.
- God was and is restoring life where there was mental illness and addiction.
- God met and is meeting me in grief and replacing it with joy.
Sometimes we need to intentionally practice gratitude toward what God has done in the past to help us reframe our present.
Is your heart heavy today? Does your soul long for hope?
I invite you to join me in intentionally calling to mind God’s past faithfulness. What personal acts of God’s steadfast love can be your anchor today?
Until next time,
Shelby
