Still and Quiet

Sitting in His Presence

“Be still and know that I am God” (Psalm 46:10a).

When I find myself feeling busy and burdened doing for God, that is when my soul most needs to be still beforemy God.

In those moments when even studying His Word feels like a check on my to-do list, I know I need a heart reset.

I am learning that sometimes I need to set aside the journals and highlighters, the Bible plans and prayer lists. I need to make space and silence for the Holy Spirit to speak.

Some of the most restful and renewing moments I experience are the simplest moments. The ones where I say, “Here I am God. I love You. I need You.”  And then I simply sit, still and quiet, in His presence,

After all, it is never about what we can do for God.  It is always about what He has done, and is doing, for us.

Until next time,

Shelby
