If God Says. . .God Will

God is not man, the he should lie, or a son of man, that he should change his mind.  Has he said, and will he not do it? Or has he spoken, and will he not fulfill it?  Numbers 23:19

Untrue words are spoken.  Self-serving decisions are made.  Promises are broken.

It can be hard to truly and deeply trust others when we have been wounded and let down by those upon whom we rely.

Sometimes without even realizing it, we begin to transfer our distrust onto God.  We begin to question whether He truly means to keep His promises toward us.

But my small, simple soul is learning to delight in the absolute trustworthiness that is God’s very nature.

The Bible declares, “God is not man, that he should lie, or a son of man, that he should change his mind.  Has he said, and will he not do it? Or has he spoken, and will he not fulfill it?”  (Numbers 23:19).

Friend, God’s promises to us are sure and true. His very nature allows nothing less.

God promises:

  • Peace that transcends life’s great challenges and trials  (John 16:33)
  • To never stop working in our lives to make us more like Jesus (Philippians 1:6)
  • A future where we are freed from the pain and sorrow of this current age (Revelation 21-22)
  • A present in which, though our body may fail, God renews our spirit (2 Corinthians 4:16)

God fulfills every word He has spoken.  So whatever we face, let us rest confidently in the absolute trustworthiness of God.

God has promised it; He will do it.  He has spoken it; it will be fulfilled.

Until next time,

Shelby
