“I have loved you with an everlasting love; therefore I have continued my faithfulness to you” (Jermiah 31:3b.)

Satan has been whispering his same old lies to me lately.
Well, that was awkward. Did you really think you fit in? Maybe they want what you have to offer, but they don’t really want you. You know, there’s a reason God broke the mold when He made you—and it’s not a good one. Does anyone really know you and love you?
I suspect I’m not alone in this. The last thing Satan wants is for us to feel confident in our identities in Christ. There’s too much power to be unleashed by a Christian who is fully grounded in their Savior’s love.
Satan is the Father of Lies. But our God is Truth. And in Jeremiah 31:3b, God says, “I have loved you with an everlasting love; therefore I have continued my faithfulness to you.”
In this verse, God was speaking to Israel. They were His chosen people, and He was their God. (Jeremiah 31:1) But if we fast-forward to the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus, we find that all who believe in His name as Savior are now God’s chosen people. (1Peter 2:9)
You and I, Friend—we are His people, and He is our God. And He loves us with an everlasting love! Let that sink in. Soak up the life-giving, hope-filling, joy-producing truth that there is One who fully knows you, and loves the real you with an everlasting love!
The next time Satan attacks us with his lies, let’s make these words our battle cry and use them to drown out his lies.
“I am loved with an everlasting love!”
Until next time,
Shelby
