“Your testimonies are my delight; they are my counselors” (Psalm 119:24).

My small, simple soul was cranky. Maybe feeling a little sorry for itself.
Unpleasant news and life events had way-laid my laid-back summer. Words were spoken that made me feel defeated. And I let my feelings speak into my days and found myself in a funk.
But, it is amazing what honest time in God’s Word can do. Psalm 119:24 says, “Your testimonies are my delight; they are my counselors.” And after spending time soaking in God’s Word, my emotions began to take a back seat to the beautiful words of counsel I was reading.
If you, too, find yourself off-balance in your emotions today, let me encourage you with these reminders about God’s Word.
- God’s Word is truth. Our feelings are not.
- Our feelings give us insight into questions we need to ask, but God’s word answers those questions.
- Our feelings of fear and worry warn us that something isn’t right. But God’s Word promises that all will be made right.
Until next time,
Shelby
