Trading Worry for Peace

Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:6).

Do you know what “supplication” means?  It means to humbly seek help from someone in a position of power.

Supplication means laying our concerns at God’s feet.

It means acknowledging  that while we might be powerless, God is all-powerful.

And as believers, supplication means trusting that not only is God in a position of power, but His power is wielded toward us in absolute love and justice.

So even when our human eyes cannot see His work, even when our finite minds don’t understand what He has allowed, we trust that God can and will work through our circumstances for our ultimate good.

Through supplication we trade our worry for His peace.

Until next time,

Shelby
